We have a busy week ahead!

Hello Barranca Mesa Bobcat Families,

Our 5th and 6th students begin NM-MSSA testing this week, Tuesday, April 21st through Friday, April 24th. We kindly ask for your support in ensuring your child is present and on time during testing days. A good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast each morning will help students do their best. Please note that students who miss a testing session will need to complete make-up assessments, which may take place during regular classroom instructional time. Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s success!

Today, Monday April 20th is the final day to purchase a BMES yearbook! They cost $21.46 per yearbook. To order go to:

1.www.Treering.com/validate

2. Enter our school's passcode: 1014930616261810

Join us this week for two exciting district events! On Tuesday, April 21, the District Elementary Speech Showcase will take place at Piñon Elementary School beginning at 5:00 p.m. Then on Thursday, April 23, enjoy the Arts & Music Festival at LAHS starting at 5:00 p.m. We hope to see you there for an evening filled with student performances and beautiful artwork from LAPS students!

This Friday, April 24th is Field Day for all students! Please review the information and schedule below for details. Students are asked to wear an assigned colored shirt per grade level and to also bring a filled water bottle. We’re looking forward to a fun and active day outside! Parents, if you would like to join us for Field Day, please enter the track by walking around the right side of the school to get to the back track. There will be a parent sign in sheet at the picnic table under the red shade structure. Thank you!

Please participate in our semi-annual Panorama Survey, April 6-24. It takes about 15 minutes. Helping students do their best in school requires a team effort! Parents, students, and schools all play important roles in this process. To help us learn how to make your child's schooling experience as positive and beneficial as possible, please give us your honest, thoughtful responses. Students and staff across Los Alamos Public Schools are participating in this survey and we seek 100% participation so that all voices are heard. Family Surveyhttps://surveys.panoramaed.com/losalamosps/familyspring2026/surveys

Lastly, we wanted to share the approved district calendar for the 26-27 school year. Click here to view: School Calendar 26-27. Please note that the first day of school for all students is August 10. There will be a Meet the Teacher the week before, most likely Friday, August 7. More information on that as we get closer.
