We hope you are having a wonderful summer! The 2026–2027 school year is just around the corner, and we wanted to share a few important updates to help you prepare.

Our front office team is officially back, and the school building is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you have registration paperwork or any other documents to submit before the start of the school year, please feel free to stop by during office hours.

Please save the date for our Meet the Teacher & School Supply Drop-Off on Friday, August 7, from 2:00–3:00 p.m.

Class lists will be posted promptly at 2:00 p.m. on the exterior doors of the school.

• Preschool and Kindergarten: Class lists will be posted on the Early Childhood entrance doors (the front outer doors closest to the pool).
• Grades 1–6: Class lists will be posted on both the main lobby entrance doors and the gym entrance doors.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students and families to meet their teacher, visit their classroom, and drop off school supplies before the first day of school. We look forward to seeing you there!

The 2026–2027 school supply lists are attached below for your convenience.

All students should come to school with a backpack and a refillable water bottle. Please label all school indicated supplies, backpacks, water bottles, and outerwear (such as jackets and coats) with your child's name to help ensure misplaced items can be easily identified and returned.

If your family needs assistance obtaining school supplies, please don't hesitate to contact our school counselor, Ms. Romero, at a.romero2@laschools.net. We are committed to ensuring every student has the supplies they need for a successful start to the school year.

Our teachers and staff will return to campus on August 3 and are excited to begin preparing their classrooms and welcoming students back for another incredible year at Barranca Mesa Elementary!

The first day of school for Kindergarten through 6th grade is Monday, August 10. PreK students will begin school on Wednesday, August 12.

We can't wait to see our Bobcats back on campus and kick off a fantastic 2026–2027 school year!
