๐Ÿฆ March comes in like a lion, and out like a lamb. ๐Ÿ‘

Hello Barranca Mesa Bobcat Families,

This Friday morning, March 6th from 8:30 to 9:30 am in the BMES Cafeteria we invite you to Start with You: How Self-Regulation Supports Your Child, an engaging and interactive workshop focused on supporting your child through self-regulation strategies. This workshop will feature SEL tools, yoga, and dedicated time to connect with others while learning practical ways to support your child’s growth and well-being. Light refreshments will be served. Feel free to bring a friend or another parent along with you!

Our Barranca Read-A-Thon starts this Monday, March 2nd through March 13th, and we are excited to build reading enthusiasm across our school! We are having a kick off day for our Read-a-Thon & Read Across America this Monday- Wear Stripes and/or Wacky Socks! This year, students will track their reading in two ways. First, for in-class tracking, minutes will be recorded on an electronic spreadsheet that classroom teachers can access to ensure students have daily in-class reading time during these specific dates. Second, for at-home tracking, a paper tracker will be sent home for families to record reading minutes, and these trackers should be returned to school each Friday. The classroom teacher will then enter the at-home minutes into the same spreadsheet used for in-class tracking. The PTO is offering many cool prizes! Thank you for your support and for encouraging a love of reading at home.

Please mark your calendars that Spring Parent Teacher Conferences are Thursday, March 19th and Friday, March 20th. There will be no school for students on these days. Your child's teacher will be communicating with you on setting up your child's conference soon.

Thank you to our art teacher, Ms.Amber for a beautiful display highlighting our students artistic talents at the "All Schools Student Art Show". The “All Schools Student Art Show” exhibit will remain on display through March 26th at the Los Alamos Public Library.

There are small hints that spring is on its way. Happy first week of March!
