"Blossoms are the Whispers of Spring."

Hello Barranca Mesa Bobcat Families,

We hope all of our families had a wonderful and relaxing Spring Break. We are excited to welcome everyone back to school and look forward to a strong finish to the year! We can’t wait to continue learning, growing, and celebrating together in the weeks ahead. Let’s make it a fantastic final stretch!

Our school Speech Contest is this Tuesday, April 7th from 1:30–2:30 pm in the gym. We wish the very best of luck to all of our students participating and know they will do an amazing job. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Kuykendall for her time and dedication in organizing this event for our school community.

We have a lot happening on Friday! It’s PTO Popcorn & Pickle Friday, be sure to have your student(s) bring their dollars to purchase one or both snack items. They are sold for $1.00 each. Then, join us in the evening for our PTO Family Paint Night from 5:30–7:30 pm in the cafeteria, where local artist and PTO member Caroline Blackburn will guide participants in painting a beautiful hot air balloon scene. All supplies are included, and space is limited to 80 participants, so pre-registration is required. Be sure to reserve your spot at https://www.barrancapto.org/paint-night. We hope to see you there. Thank you for supporting our PTO!

Los Alamos Public Schools online registration for the 2025–2026 school year is now open. All students planning to attend LAPS—new and returning, including kindergarten and preschool—must complete registration at www.laschools.net/registration. Students in grades 6th–11th must also complete the returning student registration form in addition to course selection. Be sure to select the 2025–2026 school year when registering.

The LAPS Summer Learning Program will run June 1st–26th (no school June 19) from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Aspen Elementary for students in grades K–7. This program focuses on strengthening literacy skills and supporting academic success. Apply today to reserve your student’s spot!

Don't forget to purchase your BMES yearbook and capture memories from this school year! Please see the ordering information below. The last day to order your yearbook is Monday, April 20th.
